If you live in Wisconsin, brats are a summer staple at any tailgate.  They are delicious and easy to grill up!  We've put together a really simple beer brat recipe that is a winner every time. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

Tools:

  • Tin foil pan
  • Grill
  • Tongs

Ingredients

1 large onion
1 pound uncooked bratwurst
2 tablespoons butter
2 cans of beer
Buns, for serving
Favorite toppings, for serving

Instructions

Heat up grill to high heat 400 degrees

Peel and slice the onion in 1/2-inch thick rings.

In a tinfoil pan, place the onion, bratwurst, and butter. Cover with the beer and bring to a boil and cook uncovered, for 15 minutes, or until brats are cooked through.

When ready to grill, remove brats from liquid and place directly over the heat. Cook brats on all sides until dark golden and warmed through.

Serve on buns with reserved onion and mustard.
