Smoked Sweet Heat Deviled Eggs

Ingredients:

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fire For Effect Sweet Heat Rub
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Smoked paprika, for garnish
  • Fresh chives, finely chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

Smoke the Eggs:

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) and add your favorite wood chips for smoking.

Hard-boil the eggs by placing them in a pot of cold water, bringing it to a boil, then reducing the heat and simmering for 10 minutes. Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool.

Once cooled, carefully peel the eggs and halve them lengthwise.

Remove the yolks and set them aside in a mixing bowl.

Place the egg whites on a tray or rack to be smoked.

Prepare the Filling:

Mash the egg yolks with a fork until they're finely crumbled. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, honey, and sweet heat rub to the yolks. Mix until well combined and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Smoke the Egg Whites:

Place the halved egg whites on the smoker rack and smoke them for about 15-20 minutes, or until they develop a light smoky flavor. Remove from the smoker and let them cool slightly.

Assemble the Deviled Eggs:

Once the egg whites have cooled, spoon or pipe the yolk mixture into each egg white half, filling them generously.

Sprinkle smoked paprika over the filled eggs for added flavor and garnish with finely chopped fresh chives.

Serve and Enjoy:

Arrange the smoked deviled eggs on a serving platter and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve. These eggs make a delicious appetizer or side dish for any occasion.

These smoked sweet heat deviled eggs are sure to be a hit at your Easter gathering or any other event where you want to impress your guests with a unique twist on a classic dish. Enjoy the smoky, spicy-sweet flavors!
