Smoked Chex Mix Recipe

Smoked Chex Mix Recipe

This recipe was a hit for the family over the weekend. It's really simple and delicious!

Ingredients:

3 cups corn Chex cereal
3 cups rice Chex cereal
3 cups wheat Chex cereal
1 cup pretzels
1 cup mixed nuts (such as peanuts, almonds, cashews)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:

Prepare your Weber grill for indirect smoking. Preheat the grill to 250°F (120°C) using the indirect heat method, with the charcoal or wood chips placed on one side of the grill and no heat source on the other side.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the corn Chex, rice Chex, wheat Chex, pretzels, and mixed nuts.

In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings.

Pour the butter mixture over the Chex mix and toss until everything is evenly coated.

Spread the Chex mix in a single layer on a large disposable aluminum tray or a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.

Place the tray on the side of the grill without direct heat, close the lid, and smoke for 1 to 1.5 hours. Stir the Chex mix every 20-30 minutes to ensure even smoking.

After smoking, remove the Chex mix from the grill and let it cool completely. It will continue to crisp up as it cools.

Once cooled, transfer the smoked Chex mix to an airtight container for storage. Enjoy your delicious and smoky snack!

Note: Feel free to customize the mix by adding other snacks like cheese crackers or dried fruits.
