Quick And Easy Smoked Cabbage

Smoked cabbage is a great side dish to any hearty meal. Especially brisket and corned beef!  Raw cabbage has an earthy, bitter flavor, but smoking cabbage mellows out the bitterness. Give this simple recipe a try the next time you fire up the smoker!

Smoked Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients:

Directions:

Preheat the smoker to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wash a head of cabbage and remove the outer leaves.

Cut the cabbage into quarters, leaving the stem intact to hold the quarters together.

Drizzle olive oil over the outside and inside of the cabbage.

Sprinkle the Fire For Effect Sweet Heat dry rub on the outside and inside of the cabbage, spreading it evenly.

-variation - wrap the cabbage in bacon to increase the flavor!

Wrap the cabbage tightly in aluminum foil.

Place the cabbage in the smoker and cook for 2–3 hours, depending on the size of the cabbage.

After 2 hours, open the foil and check the tenderness.

Once the cabbage is tender throughout, remove it from the smoker, and serve it hot.
