Easy Smoked Sausage

It's as easy as 1-2-3!  We love to get our sausage fresh from the local butcher, but you can use this recipe with any sausage your get from the local grocer. Give it a try and let us know how is turns out!

Ingredients

  • Sausage of your choice (or make your own)
  • Wood Chips Or Pellets - We prefer hickory or apple

Step 1: Preheat Your Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225° optional:  if your smoker doesn’t have one, add a water pan beneath the meat.

Step 2: Place Sausages On Smoker

Put your sausages directly on the grate, and ensure they don’t touch.

Step 3: Smoke

Smoke the sausages for about 2 hours and 30 minutes. The sausages are done when they reach an internal temperature of 165 F. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

If they aren’t ready after 2.5 hours, check back every 10-15 minutes until they are, keeping the smoker door closed as much as possible.

Serve with grilled onions, spicy mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce!
