Citrus-Marinated Grilled Chicken
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Zest of 1 lemon
Zest of 1 lime
Zest of 1 orange
Juice of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1 orange
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 teaspoons of First Strike Seasoning
Lemon slices and fresh herbs (such as parsley or thyme) for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Marinade:
In a small bowl, combine the lemon zest, lime zest, orange zest, lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice, minced garlic, honey, olive oil, and First Strike seasoning. Whisk together until well combined.
Marinate the Chicken:
Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.
Pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure it is evenly coated. If using a bag, massage the chicken to distribute the marinade.
Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to penetrate the chicken.
Preheat the Grill:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 375°F to 400°F.
Grill the Chicken:
Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard any excess marinade.
Place the chicken breasts on the preheated grill and cook for 6-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center. The internal temperature should reach 165°F when measured with a meat thermometer.
While grilling, baste the chicken occasionally with any leftover marinade to keep it moist and flavorful.
Serve the Grilled Chicken:
Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the grill and transfer it to a serving platter.
Garnish with lemon slices and fresh herbs for a vibrant presentation.
Serve the citrus-marinated grilled chicken hot off the grill alongside your favorite side dishes, such as rice, roasted vegetables, or a crisp green salad.
Note:
For an extra burst of citrus flavor, you can add additional lemon, lime, or orange slices to the grill during the last few minutes of cooking and serve them alongside the chicken as a garnish.
Make sure to let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving to allow the juices to redistribute evenly.
