3-2-1 Method Explained

What is the 3-2-1 method I keep hearing about???

Basically, it's a method to smoke ribs from start to finish.

3-2-1 represents the amount of hours the rack of ribs cook at each stage.

🔥The ribs smoke for 3 hours

🔥Then they are wrapped in aluminum foil or butcher paper for 2 hours

🔥Lastly, they are cooked unwrapped without smoke for the last hour

Total, the ribs will spend 6 hours on the cooker.

There is a lot more that goes into the 3-2-1 method, but now you understand what it means!

What's your go to way to smoke your ribs 🍖?

Greg, this is Joe Shimko in Orlando. It is super Bowl Sunday and I will be smoking ribs and wings today. Just wanted to let you know that I have passed your info on to my Health Coach at the Lake Nona VA. His name is also Greg and he is former Army and Marine veteran who is now a Nurse and health coach at the VA. We were talking about grilling this weekend and I passed on your site information to him. He said he will check it out and hopefully he orders and passes your info around the local VA here in Orlando. Appreciate and root for the cause. Take care, Doc, Joe.
